An unexpected invitation from a kid he hardly knows changes everything for an eighth grader with Down syndrome.
A beautiful short film written and directed by nineteen year old Emma Grace Wright, produced and crewed by Honey Head Films. The Deep End is a slice of life that allows the audience to step into the world of a loving and pure character with a disability and potentially shift their perspective about fitting in.
As a social enterprise, we are constantly working to give voice to underrepresented characters in cinema and The Deep End truly aligned with that vision. This well-paced narrative premiered to a sold out audience of 400 in January, 2020 - touching the hearts of our entire community. Shot over a few hot summer days with an incredible team of diverse talent, we handpicked our crew knowing these key players would need to be kind and adaptable above all else and are proud to say women held 50% of positions throughout production. The film completed a successful festival run boasting Official Selections at the critically acclaimed, international River Run Film Fest, Beverly Hills Film Fest and New York City Independent Film Festival. It is now available for VOD streaming through Amazon.
