A journey of acceptance with an unlikely hero who doesn't seem to care much about anyone or anything - until a chance meeting with a woman at a coffee shop reveals a hidden link that could change his life forever.
A quirky and heartwarming short film written and directed by Erika Edwards exploring the magic of missed connections and unknown degrees of separation. This film was inspired by life events and the infamous Ms. Gloria and her prayer garden on Grace St. nestled in a sleepy corner Wilmignton. Shot over two days snowy days in Colorado with a dynamic bicoastal cast and seasoned, local crew from the Mile High City; Laundry Day is currently making waves in the festival circuit.
With a desire to work outside our home state and comfort zone and collaborate with new creatives, Erika wrote this short with the intention of establishing herself and Honey Head as a narrative director and production company in a brand new market. Successful on all accounts, this self-funded film was crewed by a handful of passionate and talented professionals itching to be involved in more narrative filmmaking. Navigating post production with a diverse team, Laundry Day was edited and colored in house and boasts an original score by a local composer and a world premier at Cucalorus 2019.
